Welcome Letter from the Headteacher
Welcome to Windmill Hill Primary School and thank you for looking at our website.
We are a happy, caring and extremely successful school where children love to learn. Indeed, visitors always comment on the warm and friendly atmosphere and the exemplary behaviour of the children.
Our aim is for each child to achieve their potential and the team of dedicated staff work hard to ensure that this is possible. We offer a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum with every child having French, dance, drama, music and sport lessons taught by professionals each week.
We have our own Forest School which is used weekly by each class for outdoor learning. The Forest School contains an amphitheatre, tree house, outdoor musical instruments and wooden sculptures. During our last Ofsted inspection the inspector described it as being a “magical place to learn”. Indeed the children love being in there and their learning experiences in the Forest have a huge impact on their work in the classroom.
The staff and Governors of Windmill Hill are committed to raising the educational standards and work hard to develop the curriculum and procedures in order to enhance the education the children receive.
As Headteacher, I firmly believe that the staff need to be happy in their workplace and as a result the school has gained the Investors in People Award 5 times, for the last two assessments, we achieved the Gold Award which demonstrates that the management of the school is committed to the well-being and development of all staff.
We enjoy excellent relationships with our parents/carers and believe that the role of the parent is important in educating the child. Indeed our motto is:
“Windmill Hill is committed to lifelong learning in a caring environment and together, we can make a difference.”
Staff are always available should there be any concerns. Our last Ofsted inspection graded us Outstanding in all areas which is testimony to the hard work and commitment of all the staff, governors, parents and children.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website and we welcome any feedback.
