Winter Update 2021

Autumn 2021

We all returned to school in September feeling refreshed after the holidays. Of course, due to the restrictions, not many people actually went away on holiday…but it was a lovely break all the same!

School has returned to some normality. We have started some extra-curricular activities again which the children are loving. On Wednesday mornings, Years, 4, 5 and 6 have drumming, so may we take this opportunity to apologise to our neighbours!

We have a Dance Club on Tuesdays after school and the children are busy preparing a piece to show towards the end of the Autumn Term. In school, we are also rehearsing for a Christmas Show. This year, restrictions permitting, we will be allowing parents to attend.

On Thursdays, Premier Sports run a football lunch time club and a multi-sports club after school. All of the clubs are very well attended by the children, which we believe is indicative of how much the children have missed these extra activities in school.

We have also reopened Breakfast Club, albeit for certain year groups on certain days. Again, this is very popular with the children as it is a great start to the day for them.
Furthermore, we have booked a residential trip for the Year 6 class for next summer.

This will be the first trip since summer 2019 as in the previous two years, the children missed out due to the pandemic. We have also received extra funding towards the trip which hopefully will encourage more children to attend.

Finally…

In our school, we are committed to keeping our children safe. This term, Year 5 attended Safety Central, the Interactive Lifeskills Centre based at Cheshire Fire in Lymm. The centre has special effects and the latest technology to simulate a range of hazards and risks. Each zone is themed with activities which help to encourage learning through a hands-on experience. The children also learned about road safety, safety within the community and online safety as well as issues such as mental health. We are hoping to plan many more trips throughout the school year for all of the children to enjoy.
