Winter Update 2020
Review of Summer/Autumn 2020
School closed as part of the National Lockdown on Friday 20th of March. It was a day of very mixed emotions. We did not know when we would see the children again and everyone was feeling very anxious about the future.
School opened later in the Summer Term for small groups and it was lovely to see some of the children again. We stayed in touch with our families and our parents and children sent in lovely gifts which kept us going! We even had a socially distanced visit from Peppa Pig!
All of the staff created a video to send home to the children and let them know that we missed them. It gave everyone a real lift and reminded the children that we are always here for them.
Liverpool won the Premier League which helped lift our spirits even more! (for those of us that support Liverpool).
School reopened to everyone in September. In spite of having very little contact with us in the summer, our new Reception class arrived very confidently. Everyone has settled in very well and school is ticking over nicely.
Finally…
We welcomed two new babies into the Windmill Hill community! Mrs Mayer had a baby girl during the first lockdown in March and Mr East had a baby girl in October.
Welcome to the world, Piper and Colbie!
