Winter Update 2023

We all returned to school in September after a lovely summer. The summer holiday camp was well attended and it was lovely to see the children over the holidays.

We have had a very busy first term with lots of visitors in school. This includes the veterinary nurses from Sandymoor Vets who visited in October. They brought along some guinea pigs and showed the children in Reception and Year 1 how to measure the heart beat and check their teeth!

In November this year, we supported The Brain Charity for our annual charity fundraising event. The Brain Charity are based in Liverpool. They help support people with all kinds of neurological conditions.

The dress code was multi-coloured and the school was vibrant with decorations! We had a cake sale; guess the name of the bear and guess how many sweets in the jar. It was one of our most successful charity fundraisers to date and we raised a total of £487.88.

December was a very busy month with lots of lovely things planned. This included our Christmas Fayre. It was a lovely afternoon and was very well supported by parents and families, including past pupils and it was lovely to catch up with them.

The staff worked so hard to make the event fun and there were lots of stalls and games. Unfortunately, Santa was unable to attend as it was a busy time of year for him but he did pop in to see the children on Christmas Dinner Day! The total amount raised was £1254.15 and this would not have been possible without the amazing efforts of our whole school community.

Finally…

once again, we were fortunate to have been invited to the Trust Alliance Group, (formerly the Ombudsman) in Daresbury for a Christmas Fun Day.

This time, however, the whole school was invited. We all had such a fun afternoon! There were fair rides, the Santa Express where all the children met Father Christmas and received gifts. There was an ice rink, a giant snow globe, hotdogs and chips, hot chocolate and sweets, face painting and I could go on and on! The children had a lovely time and it was a fantastic start to the school Christmas holidays.
